Bio
Domini Alcantara was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. With both of his parents photographers, he was born with a special curiosity in the aesthetic of the image. Started interest in filmmaking at age of 16 when assigned to shoot a film for mother’s day at high school, shot “Hands on Mother’s Day”. This short film was well received by the audience encouraging him to pursue a career in film. In the search for the answer of how to make a shot cinematic, his curiosity into becoming a cinematographer began. Domini continued his studies at City College of New York, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Video Production, On June 2014 his work in "Harvard On Hudson" as a Director of Photography made the top 6 finalist in a nationwide competition in Hollywood at the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) clubhouse, earning an Outstanding Cinematography Award. He recently worked on "Atravezando El Jordan" as a DP, a feature film that promises to be a hit in the festival world.
